I build Fender style amps which includes an amp based on the Super Reverb but as a combo amp giving 45W into 2 x 12" Jensen speakers and a smaller amps like the, Princeton Tweed 5F2a, Champ and Princeton Reverb as per spec which I've called the Practice Reverb and gives around 12W into a 10" Jensen speaker.

My attention is focused to replicate the circuit and cabinet just like it was made way back in the 1950's and 1960's.

I can also build Marshall styled amps too.

Please feel free to contact me for your amp requirements.

The circuit

I use the Blackface AB763 circuit in the Super Reverb look alike and the AA1164 circuit in the Practice Reverb. Both amps are point to point wired and I use quality components like orange drop capacitors and metal film resistors. Carbon resistors can be used at the client's request. Transformers are sourced in the UK and from America, and Canada. Using quality build will ensure reliability and decades of usage.

The cabinet

The amps are built in my workshop and are built out of solid pine, just like it was back in the day, so no chipboard or MDF here.

The cabinet can be covered with tweed or tolex, this would be to your requirements.
If it is a tweed cover then I do not shellac the unit.

This one is for a Princeton Reverb look alike.

The circuit board

I use fibre board for the circuit boards, where I cut the board to size, drill out the holes, hand bash out the eyelets and then do point to point wiring. The valves I like to use best are Tung-Sol valves but any valve manufacturer can be used, please contact me for your requirements.

Price is calculated per unit based on client's request but is usually around £1,800 for the Super Reverb look alike and around £1,300 for the Princeton Reverb look alike. The price reflects the fact that everything is hand built and takes time to build.
Build time at the quickest is around 3-4 weeks.
